The People Powered Limo

Fresh out of high school and studying business management at the University of Colorado Denver, cap’n nocap’n launched a pedicab leasing operation for Jay’s Valet providing service in Downtown Denver. Through this experience he was inspired to create a new type of transportation, a hybrid vehicle pairing man-power with electricity, he dubbed the People Powered Limo. The design allowed for the shuttling of 10-12 passengers in a convertible seating area with two operators peddling in recumbent seating, like a paddle boat. Their efforts would charge a battery for the low-speed electric motor responsible for propelling the vehicle through the city streets or parking lots it would be deployed in.

People Powered Luxuries

After receiving a high quote to bring his invention to prototype by Caztek Industries, the group behind the pedal pubs, the cap’n began developing People Powered Luxuries to provide alternative transportation options and concierge service in the Denver area. He became versed in the Public Utilities Commission’s regulations on the industry, related to common and contract carrier licenses, and worked with clients to create unique experiences, like a James Bond evening complete with the Casino Royale tuxedo and Ashton Martin rental.

People Powered Luxuries found success offering remodeling, handyman, and property management services to relators, homeowners, and commercial property management groups in the Denver area. One of his favorite jobs was remodeling the interior of a garage that would house a Shelby Cobra and a Red Tesla.

cap’n nocap’n explored opportunities in the cannabis and subscription box industries.

He launched the HoggitBox in 2015, offering wine and cheese pairings, inspired by a love for port wine he shared with his family. The hoggit is a round bottom decanter used traditionally for port, so nick set out to make ‘a pairing so good you’d hog it’. His subscription box design included a cut out area that would serve as the base for the hoggit and featured a new wine and cheese pairing with a written description of the offering.

He also conceptualized Bud n’ Breakfasts to connect clients with cannabis friendly housing and experiences in the growing Colorado market, which brought him into networking opportunities as the 2016 Social Responsible Cannabis Consumption citizen initiative was working its way through legislation. And so began The CocoNut Tree endeavor.
