cap’n nocap’n nick phillips started dreaming about running a whimsical fairy floss (cotton candy) operation in 2023 and in his dreams the Floss Boss, a multidimensional ostrich that got lost in the floss at the World’s Fair of 1904, appeared. With the ability to travel interdimensionally using the Multiplex Gramphone, the Floss Boss figured out how to infiltrate the mind of the cap’n and inspired him to build a business for him to run and even a puppet version of the 120-year-old bird.
Spun Out Fairy Floss LLC
The Trailer, the cap’n built, received its Retail Mobile Food Vending License in the city of Denver in August, 2025 and approved to serve ice cream in September. With these licenses, the trailer hit the streets offering complimentary fairy floss, Floss Boss stickers, fairy floss floats, custom tee-shirts, and more, while spinning out records from a vertical hanging turntable. Visitors of the Spun Out experience were able to spin their own fairy floss after hearing a short safety warning about the addictiveness and harm related to its main ingredient, sugar.
